Job Description
Registered Nurse - Medical ICU

Schedule

Shifts: Day/Night or Nights (12D/N rotating contracts possible - shift assignments reviewed every 4-week schedule).

Assignment Details

Patient population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics; Daily census ~23; 24 beds/rooms.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years RN experience.
• Current acute care experience in ICU specialty (working consistently in the last 12 months).
• Patient ratio: 2:1 (days, nights, weekends).
• ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program.
• Valid compact or state RN license in hand at time of submission.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH/NIHSS.
• Charting experience: EPIC required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and monitoring in the Medical ICU setting.
• Perform assessments and administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Manage ventilator support, hemodynamic monitoring, and emergency interventions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient management.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and health management.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and patient safety standards.

Compliance / Notes

Orientation: 72 hours; pre-approved time off: two (per contract); Ohio fingerprinting must be completed immediately after signing contract; flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only).
