About the Role
PG&E's Integrated Grid Planning (IGP) organization is seeking a Senior Portfolio Planning Investment Analyst to support the development of optimized multi-year electric investment plans. This role focuses on portfolio-level analysis, evaluating financial tradeoffs, supporting investment decision-making, and translating complex analytical outputs into clear, leadership-ready insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform portfolio-level analysis of capital investment plans, evaluating cost, risk, benefit, and funding tradeoffs
- Support development of multi-year investment scenarios under varying financial constraints
- Translate analytical and optimization outputs into actionable recommendations for leadership
- Develop and maintain portfolio dashboards, reports, and analytical tools using Excel and Power BI
- Conduct scenario analysis, financial modeling, and investment prioritization assessments
- Partner with Finance, Engineering, Asset Management, and Planning teams to align assumptions and investment strategies
- Support executive reporting, governance reviews, and leadership presentations
- Perform data validation, QA/QC, and ensure auditability of portfolio reporting
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and reporting efficiencies
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in financial analysis, capital planning, portfolio analysis, investment planning, or decision support
- Strong experience with Excel and Power BI
- Experience working with large, complex datasets and developing business insights
- Understanding of financial structures, investment tradeoffs, cost-benefit analysis, and portfolio prioritization
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills
- Ability to create leadership-facing reports and executive presentations
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
