Frankenmuth is known for its welcoming atmosphere, local restaurants and shops, festivals, and year-round events, making it a great place to work and be part of the community.Job ResponsibilitiesGreet clients and patients in a warm, professional mannerCheck patients in and out of the hospitalSchedule appointments and maintain an organized appointment calendarAnswer incoming phone calls and assist clients with general questionsTake accurate messages and communicate information to doctors and team membersProcess invoices, payments, deposits, and other client transactionsMaintain accurate client and patient information in the practice management systemAssist with prescription requests and pickups according to hospital protocolsCommunicate with clients regarding appointments, medical records, follow-up needs, and prescription pickupsHandle incoming and outgoing email, mail, medical records, and other correspondenceAssist clients with pet food, preventatives, supplements, and other hospital productsMaintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception and waiting areaHelp manage patient and client flow by communicating with the medical team throughout the dayProvide excellent customer service during both routine and emotionally difficult situationsMaintain client and patient confidentialityFollow established hospital policies and proceduresWork collaboratively with doctors, technicians, assistants, management, and fellow receptionistsSkills / QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentPrevious veterinary reception experience preferred, but not requiredPrevious customer service, medical reception, administrative, or high-volume front-desk experience is a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong customer service skillsStrong organizational and multitasking abilitiesComfortable working with computers, phones, email, and scheduling softwareAbility and willingness to learn new technology and hospital protocolsStrong attention to detail and ability to accurately document informationAbility to remain calm and professional during busy or difficult situationsDependable, punctual, and reliableTeam-oriented with a willingness to help where neededComfortable working around dogs, cats, and exotic petsAbility to communicate compassionately with clients during emotional situationsAbility to stand, bend, stoop, and move throughout the hospital as neededWhat Makes Our Hospital DifferentFrankenmuth Birch Run Veterinary Hospital isn't your typical dog-and-cat-only veterinary practice.
