ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Details

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. This position requires immediate availability and involves working 12-hour shifts in a cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU).

Responsibilities

Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and multi-system organ failure.
Administer care for patients post-cardiac surgery, including CABG and valve replacement/repair.
Monitor patients with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, Impella devices, and LVAD/RVAD support.
Perform complex monitoring techniques, including Swan Ganz and pulmonary artery line management.
Provide CRRT and CVVHD as necessary.
Administer IV therapy, including managing arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines.
Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, as well as administer emergency and procedural sedation medications.
Manage care for ventilated patients and assist with BiPAP and CPAP management.
Perform phlebotomy and care for surgical wounds with drains and wound vacs.
Implement infection prevention measures and isolation precautions using PPE.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience in cardiovascular intensive care.
Ability to pass an EKG competency test with a score of 80% or above.

Qualifications

Active Illinois nursing license.
Current certifications in CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS.
Experience with Epic electronic medical records (EMR).

Schedule

The position requires availability to work every other weekend and on holidays, including Memorial Day. Orientation will consist of 8 hours of non-billable training.

Floating

The selected candidate may float to various locations within the region as needed.
