This role will play a critical part in expanding and strengthening the compliance program across U.S. and international marketplace regulatory risks, while maintaining a strong governance framework for eBay’s Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Sanctions compliance program.This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer/BSA Officer, managing a team, and supporting the most exciting parts of eBay incluidng eBay Live!The role will define long-term strategy and lead teams responsible for:Payments - AML and Sanctions Compliance GovernanceSet strategy, operating model, and organizational design for AML and Sanctions governanceEngage senior leadership, risk committees, and regulators on key risks and program directionDrive cross-functional alignment across Compliance, Legal, Product, and Business teamsLead a team responsible for:Compliance risk assessmentsCompliance testing and issue remediationRegulatory engagement, audits, and examinationsAML trainingResponding to partner and bank due diligence requestsPayments Compliance - New Product AdvisoryDrive engagement and decision-making frameworks across the lifecycle to ensure Payments Compliance requirements are includedInfluence Product and Engineering leadership to integrate compliance into roadmaps early and oftenLead a team responsible for:Providing advisory to Product, Engineering, and Business teams on new initiatives,subsidiaryy work, and eBay LiveSupporting initiatives from ideation through launchDeveloping standards, playbooks, and review processesAdditional Responsibilities:Provide strategic guidance to senior management on regulatory risks, emerging trends, and program enhancementsMaintain and evolve AML and Sanctions policy frameworks and control environmentsSupport Board and committee reporting, including development of key risk and performance indicatorsLead interactions with regulators, including examinations, inquiries, and remediation trackingDrive timely and effective resolution of compliance issues and control gapsBuild and maintain strong relationships across global stakeholdersQualifications:10–15+ years of experience in AML/Sanctions compliance, with significant leadership experienceExperience in fintech, payments, technology, or high-growth financial services environmentsStrong knowledge of BSA/AML and OFAC/Sanctions regulations and requirementsExtensive experience partnering with Product and Engineering teamsProven ability to build and scale teams and operating modelsExperience influencing senior stakeholders, including C-suite leadershipStrong track record of driving complex initiatives and resolving regulatory issuesExperience managing regulatory exams and working with auditors and regulatorsExcellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory concepts into practical guidanceStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsPreferred:Master’s Degree or Juris Doctor (JD). preferred, not requiredCAMS, CFCS, CFE, or similar certificationsWhy Join Us:Benefits are an essential part of your total compensation for the work you do every day. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
