Job Description
Interim Operations Manager - Sterile Processing

Schedule

8-hour shifts, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, depending on current rotation cycle. Must be able to work both shifts.

Assignment Details

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required or active matriculation into a bachelor's program to be completed within 24 months of hire.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required; CHL certification preferred.
• A minimum of five years of experience in Sterile Processing or a combination of Operating Room and Sterile Processing operations.
• At least two years of leadership experience in healthcare operations.
• Strong knowledge of sterilization, infection prevention, regulatory standards, workflow management, and quality improvement.
• Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and team development skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare operational systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day Central Processing operations, ensuring 24/7 service readiness and support for surgical and patient care areas.
• Oversee instrument reprocessing, sterilization workflows, inventory availability, and throughput optimization.
• Manage, coach, develop, and evaluate supervisors and staff, including performance management and scheduling.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including Joint Commission, AAMI, AORN, CDC, and OSHA.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in decontamination, sterilization, and high-level disinfection practices.
• Monitor quality, safety, and regulatory performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Compliance / Notes

This position involves leadership call responsibilities, requiring availability after hours and conducting site visits on weekends.
