Staff Accountant

Vaco is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for one of our fastest growing clients in Los Angeles. This role is ideal for a motivated accounting professional with a strong foundation in general ledger accounting who is eager to grow within a collaborative finance team. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and month-end adjustments Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies Assist with fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules Identify process improvements and support accounting system enhancements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3+ years of accounting experience (public accounting or industry) Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred) Experience with accounting software or ERP systems Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and time management abilities Preferred Qualifications Experience with month-end close in a fast‑paced environment Exposure to audit processes or public accounting Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) CPA or CPA‑track candidate Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
