PRINCIPAL BOOKKEEPER & ACCOUNTS MANAGER

Stadium District Flats is a growing real estate investment company managing 70+ residential units and active development projects.

We are seeking an experienced **Principal Bookkeeper & Accounts Manager** to join our Finance & Accounting Team. This role will work closely with the **Finance & Accounting Lead, Owner, CPA, and Property Management Team** to maintain accurate financial records, manage accounting operations, prepare financial reports, and support lenders, investors, and management.

Support the company's goal of building a **$100M real estate portfolio** through accurate and scalable financial systems.

* Maintain accurate company and property financial records.
* Manage **Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable**, vendor payments, collections, and account balances.
* Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and other financial accounts.
* Track management fees, owner billings, intercompany transactions, vendor records, and tenant accounts.
* Work with the **Finance & Accounting Lead** to prepare monthly financial statements, including Budget vs. Actual, Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Cash Flow Statements, and supporting schedules.
* Support budgeting, variance analysis, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing.
* Prepare financial reports and schedules for the **CPA, Owner, lenders, investors, and management**.
* Collaborate with Property Management on property-level accounting and closing.
* Support accounting for acquisitions and development projects.
* Process payroll and prepare annual **1099 forms**.
* Work with the Finance & Accounting Lead and CPA on tax preparation and supporting documentation.
* Help develop accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, workflow automation, and process improvements.
* Leverage **AI and technology** to improve accounting efficiency.
* Identify discrepancies, recommend corrective actions, and escalate significant issues.
* Maintain confidentiality and take ownership of responsibilities.
* **Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.**
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, AP, AR, and reconciliations.
* Proficiency in **QuickBooks Online (QBO)**.
* Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Able to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines remotely.
* Comfortable working with executives and receiving direct feedback.
* Proactive, accountable, dependable, organized, and confident.
* Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
* **U.S. real estate/property management accounting experience preferred.**
* Experience with budgeting, Power Automate, AI, or accounting automation is a plus.

**Training Rate: $4.50/hour**

New hires must complete the **Bookkeeping Tier Training Program (Tier 1–4)**. Upon successful Tier 4 Certification, the rate increases **10% to $5.00/hour**.

**Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–4:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time (ET)**

* Requires **Hubstaff or equivalent time-tracking/productivity software**, including activity tracking and periodic screenshots.
* Remote independent contractor. Contractor is responsible for applicable taxes, insurance, equipment, workspace, and does not receive employee benefits.
