Essential Anesthesia Management strives to create authentic partnerships with various medical and business professionals to deliver the highest quality anesthesia care to both patients and hospitals alike. EAM is a patient, and provider first organization that provides high-quality, customized healthcare solutions. EAM boasts highly experienced anesthesia providers that service mainly hospitals, but also outpatient surgery center locations. Our company has experienced, and will continue to experience, rapid growth in the healthcare management industry. We are transitioning to internalizing clinical practice support functions to support this further growth. General Description The Practice Manager serves as the primary operational and communication bridge between Essential Anesthesia Management, UT Health Tyler, the University of Texas, and affiliated anesthesia providers. This role is responsible for managing scheduling processes, supporting provider relations, preparing site-level reporting, and ensuring smooth, compliant daily operations. The Lead plays a critical role in maintaining high levels of coordination, transparency, and performance across stakeholders. The lead will report to the Director of Business Management. Responsibilities Operational Leadership & Provider Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for UT Health Tyler leadership, University of Texas representatives, and anesthesia providers. Ensure sites are fully staffed and compliant with all regulations and internal SOPs, using proactive communication via phone, email, and text. Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical staff, medical directors, hospital partners, and academic stakeholders. Support onboarding for new hires, residents, and rotating students, ensuring clarity on expectations, culture, compliance, and systems. Coordinate responses to provider issues related to operations, scheduling, or administrative tasks, escalating appropriately. Troubleshoot day-to-day issues and barriers to meeting service line goals, partnering with leaders to identify sustainable solutions. Scheduling & Credentialing Oversight Autonomously manage, analyze, and optimize provider schedules Use MSS (MyStaff Schedule) and other platforms to oversee schedules, link shifts, generate reports, set validation rules, and maintain schedule accuracy. Ensure comprehensive coverage for all shifts and procedures, coordinating emergency or backup coverage for unexpected absences. Develop and implement strategic scheduling plans based on provider availability, site needs, vacation/holiday calendars, and academic requirements. Post and manage open shifts and locum needs using third party vendor relationships when approved and necessary. Proactively address staffing issues, balancing resource allocation with provider satisfaction and operational goals. Verify provider credentials and independently initiate credentialing for providers added to new sites in collaboration with EAM’s Credentialing and Enrollment teams. Ensure all clinicians are third party payer credentialed in a timely manner to avoid out of network billing and timely filing denials. Lead onboarding and training for new providers and schedulers, including MSS use and EAM operational workflows. Review and refine the monthly billback reconciliation process using MSS data as the source of truth. Reporting & Site Performance Monitor, analyze, and report on site performance through scorecards, operational dashboards, and provider metrics. Provide operational insights and recommend improvements to SVP and executive leaders based on data and feedback. Coordinate site meetings and communications; participate in performance reviews and quality improvement initiatives. Help to facilitate clinical documentation training to prevent billing and coding errors and incidents. Administrative & Cross-Functional Support Assist with recruitment strategies in partnership with Human Resources and Hiring Managers. Facilitate the organization and storage of key documents such as CVs, contracts, and schedules in EAM systems. Coordinate start-up operations for new sites and support service expansions or academic rotations. Support financial oversight by monitoring revenue, expenses, and site profitability indicators. Physical Requirements and Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with providers, hospital leadership, internal teams, and external partners. Strong interpersonal, financial, and organizational abilities, with demonstrated success in medical practice administration and multi-site operations. Proven problem-solving skills, including the ability to gather and analyze information, identify root causes, develop alternative solutions, and implement timely resolutions. High attention to detail, strong time management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in both independent and collaborative settings. Demonstrates commitment to continuous improvement, quality outcomes, and operational excellence by applying feedback, tracking progress, and proactively identifying improvement areas. Skilled in relationship-building through active listening, professionalism, and a service-oriented mindset. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software platforms; experience with scheduling and credentialing systems preferred. Location & Travel Position is based in Tyler, Texas, with onsite responsibilities at UT Health Tyler and related sites. Occasional travel to other locations within the Essential Anesthesia network may be required. Qualifications 5-7 years of experience in a related field, with a track record of success in management and leadership positions. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Health Management or a minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a health care setting. Proven verbal, quantitative, financial and interpersonal skills, with in-depth knowledge of medical practice administration and multi-practice management experience. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, customer service, and ability to interact with providers, customers, management, and partners. Keen attention to detail and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and thrive in a team environment. Ability to develop relationships by listening to the needs of our customers. Ability to travel with some regularity is required.
