Accounting Associate III

Our client, a leading company in the food distribution industry, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Associate III to support their Accounts Payable (A/P) function at their Northwood, Ohio location. This is a temp-to-hire position offering the opportunity to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.

Contract Duration: Temp-to-hire

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break

Location: Northwood, OH (Onsite)

Travel: None required

Dress Code: Business casual

Key Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices received via email, fax, and mail
• Print, distribute, and track invoices for the A/P team
• Retrieve and distribute incoming mail
• Perform three-way matching using Purchase Orders, Bills of Lading/Receiving Documents, and Vendor Invoices
• Scan and index vendor invoices accurately into accounting systems
• Communicate with vendors to research and resolve invoice discrepancies
• Support accurate and timely payment operations in a high-volume environment
• Maintain organized records and documentation for audit and tracking purposes

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable processing
• Experience performing three-way matching
• Strong vendor invoice processing skills
• Experience with invoice scanning and indexing
• Effective vendor communication and discrepancy resolution skills
• Prior experience in a high-volume A/P environment
• Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in food distribution, manufacturing, or similar industry
• Familiarity with standard accounting software platforms
• Strong Excel and data entry skills
• Associate's degree or coursework in Accounting/Finance a plus
