Mattapan Health and Rehabilitation 85-Bed Skilled Nursing Facility | Mattapan, Massachusetts

Mattapan Health and Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and results-driven Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team in delivering exceptional care to our residents while fostering a supportive, engaging environment for staff.

Position Summary

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of nursing services in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. The DON will provide hands-on leadership, ensure clinical excellence, and promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and compassion.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership of nursing services for an 85-bed skilled nursing facility

· Ensure compliance with Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), CMS, and other regulatory requirements

· Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff to promote clinical excellence and staff retention

· Oversee clinical quality measures, survey readiness, and performance improvement initiatives

· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident outcomes and satisfaction

· Maintain high standards for resident rights, safety, dignity, and person-centered care

· Manage staffing, scheduling, and clinical workflows to ensure optimal care delivery

Qualifications

· Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

· 3–5 years of nursing leadership experience, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting

· Proven track record of improving clinical outcomes and staff engagement

· Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, DPH requirements, and survey processes

· Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

· Compassionate, resident-focused, and team-oriented leadership style
