If you'd like to know more, check out all of the NU Facts.JOB TITLE: Adjunct Professor of SociologyJOB STATUS: PTFLSA STATUS: ExemptTITLE OF IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Sociology Department ChairDEPARTMENT: SociologySECTOR: Academic AffairsSUMMARY:The Department of Sociology at Niagara University seeks a part-time instructor for classes beginning in the Fall 2026 semester. We seek instructors who can teach two or more of the following courses: Intro to Sociology; Urban Sociology; Sociology of Health; Sociology of Aging; Organizations; Research Methods. Daytime teaching availability is preferred, likely on a Tuesday/Thursday schedule. Niagara University Sociology is committed to academic rigor and constructive critical assessment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Prepare and execute course syllabi according to university and department standardsMaintain class records and attendancePrepare and grade exams and other methods of evaluationPrepare integrative lesson plans that promote student interactionInstructs in a way that stresses sociological themes promoting an awareness of inequality in societyBe available for students by email and by appointment to help with any specific problems they might be having with course material.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of norms and standards in the field of SociologyAbility to plan and present material in a concise, clear, and logical mannerAbility to work effectively independentlyInitiative and resourcefulnessQUALIFICATION STANDARDS:Master's Degree in Sociology or a close area of specialization required.
