SENIOR PLANT ACCOUNTANT

Senior Plant Accountant

Global Tier 1 & 2 automotive products manufacturer seeks a Senior Plant Accountant. Support the controller in maintaining control of the financial activities of the plant. Responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions. Process the monthly, quarterly and annual results/reports as required. Assist with any and all financial functions/spreadsheets as needed or assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable process, (matching Packing Slips/Invoices/Receivers).
• Matching of Receivers to the ITS system. Purchase Order Processing. AP Entry for payment into the CMS system. Cheque preparation, printing and EP3 processing duties.
• Accounts Receivable processing,(invoicing, cash receipts posting, reconciliation of customer deductions), and collection.
• Sales Verification report population with volumes, hours and EPP related sales. Matching of the volumes from the CSNs/Shippers to the Sales report.
• Hourly payroll processing and auditing. Manage Yearly Operating Metrics. Prepare and process both Hourly & Salary relevant J/E pertaining to payroll and recording to GL. Preparation of 401K report weekly. As well as quarterly, for Corporate. Prepare monthly HR Stats. Month-end general journal preparation/entry and processing. Assist with year-end audit binder preparation.
• Cross training with Accounting Administrator for full department coverage. Participation in Kamishibai, Layer Audits and 5S Audits as well as complying to accounting area 5S regulations. Responsible for distribution, tracking and reconciliation of petty cash if applicable. All other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting or Finance &/or related field
• Excellent verbal skills and telephone manner
• Accounting knowledge for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general journals. Payroll (ADP) and year-end processing, knowledge of pension remittances.
• Decision making and problem-solving skills. Ability to read, analyze, interpret reports, business correspondence and procedures
• Able to relate well to all levels of staff and external contacts. Self-Starter with excellent Communication, strong organizational & interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge MS Office with emphasis on Excel (Intermediate), Word and Outlook.
• Education: College Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or post-secondary courses in accounting/business plus computer training.
• Experience: Senior Accountant 5 years of practical accounting experience with minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Skills: Strong computer skills Well-Developed communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
