Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to join an exciting, high-growth medical device startup environment that uses custom, state-of-the-art laser cutting systems to produce unique lifesaving components. The Post Processing Operator works in a dynamic, fast-paced setting, learning multiple jobs within the Operations group and contributing creative ideas to improve processes. The primary focus is to support the laser process, clean and inspect components, and collaborate closely with the team to ensure high-quality products and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform post-processing of components using acid pickling solutions and other cleaning methods to remove residues from parts.
• Wear and properly use personal protective equipment, including smock, goggles, and gloves, while handling chemicals and performing cleaning tasks.
• Clean and inspect lifesaving medical device components to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
• Transfer cleaned components to quality control (QC) for final inspection and verification.
• Assist with setup and operation of state-of-the-art laser cutting systems as needed.
• Inspect components to confirm that all specifications and tolerances have been met.
• Master all assigned processes and actively identify and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Participate as a member of the team responsible for startup and shutdown of all facilities equipment, following established procedures.
• Train other employees in production processes and equipment usage when requested by the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following good safe labor practices and company policies.
• Follow instructions from the supervisor and/or production manager and complete all work in accordance with company procedures and standards.
• Conduct oneself in a professional and appropriate manner, consistently maintaining a high standard of conduct and job performance.
• Engage positively with team members and contribute to a collaborative, supportive, and enjoyable work environment.

Essential Skills

• Comfort working with chemicals and following safety procedures when using acid pickling solutions and other cleaning agents.
• Basic machine operating skills in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Experience or familiarity with quality control and inspection of parts.
• Ability to perform basic math, including conversions from millimeters to centimeters.
• Proficiency using calipers for measurement and inspection tasks.
• Ability to use a microscope for detailed inspection of small components.
• Basic computer literacy for data entry and documentation.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently.
• Strong work ethic with reliability, focus, and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn all steps of the process and adapt to different responsibilities within the Operations group.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience with inspection equipment or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience with spot welding is a plus.
• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
• Exposure to laser operations or laser-based equipment is beneficial.
• Experience with QC processes and documentation.
• Data entry skills for recording measurements and inspection results.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and support others.
• Openness to cross-training in all stations and taking on new responsibilities as needed.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean manufacturing environment focused on producing high-precision medical device components. Team members work with state-of-the-art laser cutting systems, acid pickling solutions, microscopes, calipers, inspection equipment, hand tools, and power tools, as well as computer systems for data entry and quality documentation. Personal protective equipment, including smock, goggles, and gloves, is provided and required when working with chemicals and during relevant operations. The position follows structured shift schedules, with a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and a second shift from 2:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., supporting consistent production and operational coverage. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, teamwork, and professional conduct.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davis, CA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Davis,CA.
