Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized assessments accompanied by keen observational skills.
- Craft tailored treatment plans that cater to both immediate objectives and longer-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing language, communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
- Engage in a collaborative approach with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to formulate cohesive strategies for patient care.
- Provide educational resources to patients and families to reinforce progress during non-clinical hours.
- Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care through each stage of treatment.
- Keep meticulous records that abide by state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Pursue ongoing education and professional development by staying abreast of current advancements in the field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a clinically supervised Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not ASHA-certified.
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in utilizing evidence-based treatment methods appropriate for all age groups, displaying a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal skills, adept at fostering relationships with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to tailor therapy approaches to reflect a broad spectrum of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Sound clinical judgment coupled with robust problem-solving capabilities.
- Comfort with electronic health records and documentation requirements.
