About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead and transform its engineering function. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing strategic departmental priorities, mentoring engineering staff, and building a culture of operational discipline and accountability. This role involves driving R&D and product innovation, standardizing engineering processes, and guiding advanced technical integration. The VP of Engineering will also be instrumental in optimizing the company's manufacturing and sourcing strategy, ensuring the best quality, cost efficiency, and scalability. Candidates for the VP of Engineering position at the company should have a proven track record in executive engineering leadership, with experience in multi-disciplinary engineering teams within a manufacturing environment. The role requires a deep understanding of R&D and product development, from concept to commercial success, and core technical competencies in mechanical engineering, fluid power systems, and automated controls. Strategic sourcing and manufacturing aptitude are essential, as is a hands-on leadership style that fosters a sense of urgency and earns the respect of both shop-floor personnel and executive peers. Specialized industry exposure in railroad, heavy off-highway equipment, or specialized mobile machinery manufacturing is a distinct advantage.
