CWI Welding Inspector

CWI Welding InspectorThis role is with a manufacturing facility specializing in structural racking systems. The Welding Inspector will provide continuous inspection and documentation of manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code requirements and company quality standards, with hands on oversight of cutting, punching, shearing, stamping, notching, welding, and painting operations. Welding operations utilize a GMAW Spray Transfer process.Full time, four day work week (10 hour shifts, Monday to Thursday), Second Shift, 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM.$35 to $40 per hour, depending on experience.The Welding Inspector conducts daily floor and weld inspections, including part fit up, visual inspection, and review of WPS's and PQR's, and performs welder certification testing per AWS D1.1, including minor destructive testing. This role prepares and maintains Welder Qualification Records (WQRs), PQRs, WPSs, and inspection records, monitors welder qualifications, and maintains controlled processes, procedures, and specifications. The Welding Inspector also verifies welding equipment functionality and documentation daily, interprets fabrication drawings for use in inspection activities, and supports and maintains the facility's Quality Assurance Manual.Required QualificationsAWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or AWI certificationStrong knowledge of the AWS D1.1 Structural Welding CodeHigh school diploma or equivalentStrong documentation, inspection, and quality assurance skillsStrong penmanship and attention to detailComputer skills, including MS OfficeClean driving record (willing to sign a waiver for verification)Strong organizational skills; self driven and motivatedKnowledge of inspection tools and equipmentPreferred QualificationsBackground in manufacturing and welding processesPost secondary education beyond high school$35 to $40 per hour, depending on experienceFull benefitsStable, full time employmentTo apply, submit your resume along with your CWI or AWI certification number.
