Position Highlights:

• Job Type: PRN
• Location: Community Hospital

Responsibilities:

• Performs all designated Community Hospital Pathology procedures competently, including but not limited to embedding, microtomy, staining, histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, data entry, and cytology processing when designated.
• Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and solves problems or determines alternative solutions for analysis if needed, and reports all deviations from established procedure to the Supervisor. Investigate testing problems/errors and inform supervisor of all irregularities, errors or instrument failures and measures taken to solve.
• Makes contact with ordering physicians/departments as critical values, STAT reports, and similar circumstances present. Understand that time is of the essence in conveying such information to the ordering physician.

Requirements:

• Associate degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related laboratory science, OR
• Bachelor's degree or higher with:
  • 6 semester hours of Chemistry
  • 6 semester hours of Biology
  • 12 additional semester hours in Chemistry, Biology, or Medical Laboratory Technology (in any combination)
• At least 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses, OR
• At least 24 semester hours of science courses, including:

• HT/ HTL (ASCP) certification is preferred or must be obtained within two (2) years of hire.

Compensation:

• $27.00 - $31.05 per hour, depending on education and experience.
• Discretionary bonuses, relocation expenses, merit increase, market adjustments, recognition bonuses, and other forms of discretionary compensation may be available.

 

Additional Information:

• Relocation: Must relocate to Grand Junction, CO 81505 after starting work.
• Work Location: In-person/onsite
