Your Responsibilities

As a Design Engineer, Drivetrain for JD Waterloo Product Engineering Center located in Waterloo, IA, you will:

• Contribute to the development and implementation of control systems and automation solutions for tractor transmissions.
• Support system level control strategies by translating requirements into control logic, diagnostics, or calibration activities.
• Perform analysis, testing, and validation of control system performance in collaboration with senior engineers and cross functional partners.
• Diagnose and help resolve product issues identified during development, testing, or field operation.
• Document designs, analyses, test results, and lessons learned.
• Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement activities.
• Work effectively within cross functional teams including product engineering, software, PV&V, and product management.

What Skills You Need

• Experience or strong foundational knowledge in control systems, automation, or embedded product development.
• Understanding of:
  
  • Basic control theory and feedback systems
  • Transmission hardware and system behavior
• Ability to analyze technical problems and apply structured problem solving methods.
• Experience working as part of a team based product development environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn, seek feedback, and take on increasing technical responsibility.
• Working knowledge of product development processes, requirements management, and validation practices

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience related to tractor transmission design or testing
• Exposure to model based design, simulation tools, or embedded software concepts.
• Hands on experience with testing, data analysis, or system validation activities.
• Demonstrated curiosity and initiative-seeking to understand how systems work end to end.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver results in a structured, deadline driven environment.

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Agricultural, Systems, or related field)
