Senior Accountant: Close Process Leader in Growth-Driven Firm

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Scope Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a central role in keeping the Company’s accounting engine running smoothly. This is a hands‑on position in a fast‑moving, entrepreneurial setting — you’ll take real ownership of the close process, reconciliations, and AP/AR cycles, while also supporting financial reporting, audit, and special projects. You’ll have meaningful access to senior leadership and a clear path to grow as we continue executing our organic and acquisition‑driven strategy. Responsibilities Accounting Operations Take ownership of significant portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process — journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with U.S. GAAP Perform balance sheet reconciliations and dig into variances to resolve them promptly. Process and review AP/AR transactions, and pitch in on collections and vendor management when needed. Handle cash management tasks — bank reconciliations, daily cash positioning, and check runs. Keep the fixed asset sub‑ledger current — additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules. Assist with inventory accounting and purchasing planning. Reporting, Compliance & Audit Prepare supporting schedules and workpapers for the monthly financial reporting package distributed to management, lenders, and the Board. Support the annual audit and tax processes by preparing requested schedules and responding to auditor inquiries. Help strengthen internal controls and accounting policies in a way that makes sense for a PE‑backed, high‑growth company. Analysis & Special Projects Dig into customer, channel, and SKU‑level profitability to help the Controller and leadership make smart decisions. Contribute to budgeting and forecasting cycles — gathering data, building schedules, and pressure‑testing assumptions. Help budget and track promotional activities across the portfolio. Look for ways to make things better — process improvements, automation, and smarter ways of working within the accounting function. Team & Culture Work closely with teammates across operations, sales, and supply chain to make sure everyone has the accurate, timely financial information they need. Model accountability, transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement consistent with the Company’s culture. Candidate Background Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience — ideally a mix of public accounting and industry. Experience working with AI‑powered tools is a plus. Strong command of U.S. GAAP and standard month‑end close procedures. Background in CPG, food & beverage, manufacturing, or distribution is a big plus. Familiarity with inventory accounting, landed cost, and 3PL logistics is a bonus. NetSuite experience is preferred; ERP implementation or optimization experience is a nice bonus. Highly proficient in Excel — pivot tables, lookups, and working with large datasets. Sharp attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball. Clear, confident communicator — comfortable working with people at every level of the organization. A genuine can‑do attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves — no task is too big or too small. A track record of getting things done — efficiently, reliably, and with energy when it counts.
