The East Avenue Counseling Center in Waterbury, Connecticut, is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LPC, LCSW) to join our team in a full-time remote role. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand each patient’s unique trauma history.

• Develop and individualize treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, utilizing evidence-based methods and therapeutic interventions.

• Provide therapeutic services using modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, helping clients process their experiences and develop effective coping mechanisms.
\n
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals to ensure a high standard of integrated care.
\n
• Offer crisis intervention assistance during trauma-related emergencies, providing immediate emotional support.
\n
• Educate clients and their families on trauma responses, coping strategies, and available resources to promote informed recovery.
\n
• Maintain meticulous documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
\n
• Engage in ongoing case consults and interdisciplinary team meetings to enhance care strategies based on the latest research on trauma-informed practices.

• Stay informed of emerging trends and best practices in trauma therapy to continually refine your approach and effectiveness.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The clientele primarily consists of individuals who have experienced a variety of traumatic events and suffer from related mental health challenges. As part of our team, you will work with diverse populations, encompassing different age groups and backgrounds, all unified in their need for personalized and trauma-informed care. Your role will be pivotal in fostering an environment of trust and support tailored to their healing journey.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Connecticut.

• At least two years of post-licensure experience working in mental health, preferably focusing on trauma-related disorders.

• Extensive understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methods.
\n
• Demonstrated experience in delivering trauma-focused therapeutic interventions.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an empathetic and non-judgmental demeanor.

• Ability to manage stress effectively and remain calm in challenging situations.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer proficiency.
\n
• Capability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Compensation and Benefits\n
