If you aspire to be the best, and work with the best, this is where you belong. The Role The Finance Lead - Financial Information Center (FIC) is an integral part of Latham’s Global Finance team. This role provides insight into the economic performance and financial health of clients, matters, and legal teams, while building and maintaining complex analytical models that leverage the firm’s data to provide insightful analysis, responding to specific requests of business partners, and guiding colleagues toward robust financial outcomes. This role will be located in our New York Office. It may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows a hybrid and in-office presence. Responsibilities Identifying, developing, and maintaining new opportunities for the FIC team by collaborating with cross-functional teams and leveraging insights to enhance meaningful outcomes and cross-functional relationships Leveraging project management principles to manage firmwide financial projects and complete other complex financial requests needed by department management Applying business, economic, finance, and accounting principles to the firm’s internal financial data to help firm leaders simplify and solve complex problems, and leveraging SAP Business Objects to query data, and Excel to synthesize data Working to ensure the FIC team delivers a quality professional product within the established timeframe and with consistent procedures to maximize accuracy and minimize turnaround time on both quick daily requests and complex long-term analytical and technology projects Developing standard tools for reporting and analyzing data, and maintaining detailed records documenting procedures, methodologies, and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical tasks Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains Qualifications Demonstrate well-developed and professional interpersonal skills (e.g., active listening), including excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to interact with people at all organizational levels Exhibit the ability to take initiative and work both independently and in a team environment with a customer-service focus Possess the ability to undertake large, long-term projects, develop alternative methods to complete them, and implement solutions A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field A minimum of five (5) years of analytical experience in finance, accounting, or related professional services environment A minimum of five (5) years of cumulative experience A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience at a professional services organization Benefits & Additional Information Healthcare, life and disability insurance A generous 401k plan At least 11 paid holidays per year, and a PTO program that accrues 23 days during the first year of employment and grows with tenure Well-being programs (e.g., mental health services, mindfulness and resiliency, medical resources, well-being events, and more) Professional development programs Employee discounts Affinity groups, networks, and coalitions for lawyers and staff Latham & Watkins is an equal opportunity employer.
