Work Environment

The position is based onsite within a school facility in Katy, Texas, allowing for direct interaction with students, families, and staff. The work schedule typically runs from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with occasional evening clinics extending until 8:00 p.m. In addition, participation in community outreach events or health fairs may be expected on weekends to promote health and wellness initiatives. This role entails an average workweek of approximately 40 hours, providing a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough health assessments and screenings for individuals and families, employing evidence-based practices to evaluate health needs.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, ensuring the delivery of preventive care and health promotion strategies.
• Collaborate with community organizations and key stakeholders to create and implement impactful health education programs tailored to the community's needs.
• Provide culturally sensitive care, prioritizing patient advocacy to ensure access to necessary healthcare services.
• Manage referrals and coordinate follow-up care to foster continuity in care, engaging patients in their health journey.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate medical records in compliance with regulatory standards, utilizing electronic health systems as necessary.
• Engage in community outreach activities and health fairs, facilitating health screenings and delivering health information to underserved populations.
• Stay abreast of community health trends, evidence-based practices, and relevant healthcare policies to continuously enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of your role will be serving diverse populations within the school setting, including students, parents, and staff. The bilingual component of this role allows you to effectively communicate with and serve Spanish-speaking clients, thereby fostering an inclusive healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Active state nursing license.
• Fluency in Spanish is mandatory to effectively communicate with the diverse client base.
• A Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, ideally in community health or public health settings, which includes primary care exposure.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients from various backgrounds.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a school-based health setting or with pediatric populations.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of $120,000–$130,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
