About the Role

The Company is in need of an Interim CFO to take on a hands-on role in managing daily accounting operations, month-end close, and various financial responsibilities. The successful candidate will be tasked with owning the monthly close cycle, including the preparation, review, and posting of journal entries, maintaining the close checklist, and ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger. Additionally, the Interim CFO will be responsible for balance sheet reconciliations, labor and timekeeping support, project and contract accounting, accounts payable processing, and producing and validating financial reports. The role also involves identifying and driving process improvements, particularly in the areas of control gaps and workflow bottlenecks. Applicants for the Interim CFO position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with at least 10-12 years' of progressive accounting experience. A key requirement is substantial hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint, including the ability to independently manage a full month-end close. The ideal candidate will also have experience in a government contracting environment, with a working knowledge of FAR and DCAA requirements, and a background in billing on fixed-price contracts. Proficiency in Deltek Business Intelligence (BI) reporting and advanced Excel skills are essential. The role demands excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
