Occupational Therapist

*Duties*

* Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate patients' functional abilities and needs
* Develop individualized treatment plans that align with patient goals and clinical best practices
* Implement targeted occupational therapy programs to improve motor skills, cognitive function, and daily living activities
* Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, and self-care tasks
* Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with case management teams to ensure smooth transitions of care
* Document patient progress accurately using electronic health records (EHR) and maintain detailed clinical documentation
* Support patients with neurodevelopmental disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and disabilities through specialized interventions
* Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and medical staff to optimize patient outcomes
* Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques and adaptive strategies
* Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with evidence-based practices in occupational therapy

*Requirements*

* Valid license or certification as an Occupational Therapist in the relevant jurisdiction
* Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or pediatric populations
* Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and clinical assessment tools used in occupational therapy
* Experience working across various settings such as inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health, or schools
* Skilled in developing care plans and treatment strategies tailored to diverse patient needs
* Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) management and medical documentation standards
* Excellent client communication skills coupled with the ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team
* Ability to adapt interventions for clients with autism spectrum disorders or other complex conditions
* Knowledge of early intervention practices and experience working with students with special education needs is highly desirable
* Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning in the field of occupational therapy
