Responsibilities include accounts payable and receivable, cash management, payroll support, inventory accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, intercompany transactions, project/job-cost accounting, and month-end close. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will prepare financial schedules and supporting documentation, assist with audits, tax and budgeting activities, and help maintain consistent accounting policies and procedures across both subsidiaries. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build broad accounting expertise, develop professionally, and take on increasing levels of responsibility over time.ResponsibilitiesWhat You Will Do: (Essential Functions)Prepare and assist with bank reconciliations and entries for bank statement activitySupport accounts receivable billings and cash receipts and understand their impact on the general ledgerAssist with processing vendor invoices and expense reports, understand how payments are made, and ensure accurate posting to the general ledgerSupport bi-weekly payroll processing and related journal entriesRecord inventory transfers requested by Purchasing and Materials ManagementPrepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules for cash, AR, AP, inventory, prepaids, accrued liabilities, intercompany accounts and other assigned accountsComplete assigned month-end close activities in accordance with the established close calendar and promptly investigate unreconciled items or unusual account activityPrepare job cost reports, supporting schedules, and draft monthly financial statements for review by the Accounting ManagerRoll proposals to jobs when project is awardedClose dead proposals and completed jobs monthlyWork with the internal team and outside accountants providing information/reports/spreadsheets needed for annual Audit and Tax ReturnAssist the Accounting Manager and operational leaders with annual budget preparation and periodic forecastingSupport insurance renewals and audits with necessary financial dataDevelop cross-functional knowledge of purchasing, time entry, A/R, A/P, and financial reportingMaintain and update internal control documentationIdentify and support process or system improvementsLimited travel (<10%) to other company locations may be required for accounting supportParticipate in special projects and other duties as assignedOther Duties and Responsibilities:Document procedures, challenges, solutions, and process updatesSupport training and cross-training of accounting staffFoster a positive and collaborative work environmentMaintain safety and follow company health and safety standardsCommunicate professionally with coworkers, clients, and leadershipFollow company policies, procedures, and work instructionsQualificationsWhat You Bring: (Skills, Abilities, Experience)Bachelor's degree in accounting required2-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience requiredUnderstanding of project cost accounting, billing, and financial reportingKnowledge of payroll processes and labor hours, including general ledger impactFamiliarity with billing, cash receipts, and their effect on financial statementsProfessional, reliable, and trustworthy; ability to handle confidential information requiredStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsProficient in time management and multitaskingAbility to learn and adapt quicklyProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with Viewpoint Vista or Oracle Fusion is a plusMust comply with Roeslein's core values for the business's safe and efficient operation and maintain sound relationships among and with employeesWork is performed in an office atmosphere.
