Position Summary We are seeking a strategic and commercially focused Director of Marketing & Digital Strategy to lead marketing, brand, digital, loyalty and customer engagement for a multi-state fuels and convenience retail business with approximately 1,000 company-operated and dealer-operated locations. Leading a team of 4–6 marketing and digital professionals, this role will set the marketing and digital agenda, translate business priorities into actionable plans, and ensure high-quality execution across the organization. The Director will be responsible for building the team and capabilities needed to strengthen our brands, accelerate customer and loyalty growth, and create an integrated customer experience across fuel, convenience retail and digital channels. The successful candidate will combine strategic leadership, commercial acumen, digital expertise and strong people leadership with a relentless focus on measurable business outcomes. Key Responsibilities Strategy & Leadership: Develop the enterprise marketing and digital strategy and translate it into clear priorities, annual plans, budgets and measurable objectives. Team Leadership: Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of 4–6 professionals, establishing clear accountabilities while empowering the team to own day-to-day delivery. Brand & Customer Strategy: Drive brand positioning, customer value proposition and integrated marketing strategies that grow traffic, transactions, sales and customer preference. Digital, Loyalty & CRM: Set the strategic direction for digital customer engagement, loyalty, CRM and personalization across mobile/app, web, email, SMS and other customer channels. Integrated Marketing & Promotions: Oversee enterprise campaigns and promotional planning across fuel and convenience retail, ensuring alignment with Operations, Category Management and other commercial teams. Customer Experience: Champion a consistent and compelling customer experience across physical and digital touchpoints and identify opportunities to improve the end-to-end customer journey. Media & Retail Media: Provide strategic oversight of paid and owned media and advance retail media and supplier-funded marketing opportunities. Data, Analytics & ROI: Build a performance-driven marketing culture using customer, loyalty and transactional insights to improve decision-making and demonstrate the commercial impact of marketing investments. Dealer Marketing: Develop scalable approaches, programs and tools that enable effective marketing execution and adoption across the dealer-operated network. Marketing Technology: Partner with IT and technology providers to define priorities and advance capabilities in loyalty, CRM, customer data, personalization, analytics and marketing automation. Cross-Functional Leadership: Build strong partnerships across Operations, Category Management, Pricing, Wholesale/Dealer, IT, Finance and other functions to ensure marketing priorities are integrated with broader business objectives. Agency & Partner Management: Provide strategic direction and oversight to agencies, media partners, technology providers and other external partners. What We're Looking For Significant progressive leadership experience in marketing, digital, loyalty, CRM or customer strategy , ideally within a multi-location consumer business. Proven experience leading and developing teams , setting priorities and creating accountability for execution and results. Experience in convenience retail, fuels, grocery, QSR, hospitality or other high-frequency retail environments preferred. Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into integrated marketing plans and measurable commercial results. Strong knowledge of digital marketing, loyalty, customer analytics, personalization and marketing technology. Experience working across company-operated and dealer/franchise business models is highly valued. Strong analytical, financial and commercial orientation with an ability to connect marketing investments to customer and business outcomes. Exceptional cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management and executive communication skills. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or related discipline.
