Business Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a major HR workflow automation initiative. This role will partner closely with HR stakeholders and technical teams to modernize business processes, translate requirements into actionable development work, and help ensure high-quality releases through comprehensive testing and user acceptance. The ideal candidate brings strong business analysis, requirements engineering, workflow automation, and quality assurance experience. You will serve as a key liaison between business and technology teams throughout the project lifecycle. Pay Rate: $55-$60/hr Location: Tallahassee, FL | Hybrid, 3 days onsite and 2 days remote Employment Type: Contract, November 2026-June 2027 with potential renewal What You'll Do Lead requirements-gathering sessions with HR subject-matter experts and translate business needs into detailed requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Analyze current-state processes and develop future-state workflows that improve and automate HR operations. Manage user stories, product and sprint backlogs, and participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies using Azure DevOps. Analyze business data, data requirements, and application integrations to identify functional gaps and support future-state solutions. Develop process flows, design specifications, mockups, implementation plans, project documentation, and end-user procedures. Create QA strategies, test scenarios, test plans, and test cases aligned with functional requirements. Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), document findings, coordinate issue resolution, track enhancements, and support stakeholder acceptance of deliverables. Collaborate with business stakeholders, application support teams, and developers throughout iterative planning and release cycles. Summarize complex information into clear, executive-level documentation and project communications. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, finance, or a related field. 6+ years of experience in business analysis, requirements engineering, and quality assurance documentation. Business analysis experience with workflow automation involving HR systems or government applications. Demonstrated experience with requirements elicitation, As-Is/To-Be process analysis, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and data requirements.
