Business Analyst (Requirements, Process Analysis & Financial Systems):

The Business Analyst will support business and information-technology initiatives by gathering, analyzing, validating, documenting, and managing business requirements. The role will work with business and technical teams to understand operational needs, analyze processes, document workflows, and support successful project delivery.

The position requires experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, process analysis, systems analysis, stakeholder facilitation, and project documentation , with preferred experience supporting financial and accounting environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze, validate, and document business requirements.

• Elicit requirements from business and technical stakeholders.

• Manage business requirements throughout assigned initiatives.

• Perform business-process and systems analysis.

• Develop business, functional, and technical documentation.

• Document business processes, procedures, workflows, and business rules.

• Develop business-process models, workflow diagrams, and process maps.

• Facilitate stakeholder meetings, interviews, workshops, and discussions.

• Conduct Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions.

• Communicate and clarify customer requirements with business and technical teams.

• Support project teams delivering business and IT initiatives.

• Prepare project reports, meeting minutes, presentations, and status communications.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Perform gap analysis and root-cause analysis.

• Support business-process reengineering initiatives.

• Assist with operational analysis.

• Support reconciliations and financial-reporting activities where applicable.

• Work with financial-management systems.

• Interact with Accounting functional groups to clarify requirements.

• Create workflow and process documentation using Visio or similar tools.

• Use SharePoint for collaboration and document management.

• Maintain project documentation and status reports.

• Work under the direction of project managers, senior analysts, and management.

• Organize assignments and manage competing priorities.

• Maintain communication with stakeholders throughout project activities.

• Take ownership of assigned tasks through completion.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 3%2B years of information technology experience .

• Minimum 2%2B years of experience in:

  • Business Analysis

  • Requirements Gathering

  • Business Process Analysis

  • Systems Analysis

• Experience eliciting, documenting, validating, and managing business requirements.

• Experience developing business, functional, or technical documentation.

• Experience working as part of a project team supporting business or IT initiatives.

• Experience facilitating meetings, workshops, interviews, or stakeholder discussions.

• Strong requirements-analysis and documentation capabilities.

• Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with State government or similarly sized government organizations.

• Knowledge of Florida PALM .

• Knowledge of FLAIR Florida Accounting Information Resource .

• Knowledge of finance and accounting concepts.

• Experience with financial-management systems.

• Experience performing reconciliations, financial reporting, or operational analysis.

• Experience interacting with Accounting functional groups.

• Experience using SharePoint for collaboration and document management.

• Experience using Visio or similar process-mapping tools.
