Business Analyst

Business AnalystThe customer requires the services of two Business Analysts to work under the direction of the assigned Business Support Program Manager to document and test the changes of the internal accounting systems to achieve the goals and objectives of the PALM Project. The Business Analysts are expected to use their skills to facilitate, document, and coordinate with the business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure the changes made to replace FLAIR are documented, tested, and ready for production implementation for the financial unit to continue to work properly with the new system. The Business Analysts will be responsible for writing test plans and also conducting quality assurance testing.The person in this position:Has the ability to read existing documentation to quickly learn business concepts in a financial accounting areaIs skilled in business analysis to prepare accurate documentation and diagrams of the new processes in financial systems for the PALM projectIs responsible for clear communication between stakeholders and the SME’s to document detailed test plans for the financial systems impacted by PALMIs responsible for following the test plans to test the financial systems impacted by PALM as well as perform ad hoc testing to find defectsBusiness Analyst responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:Facilitating work sessions with the SME’s to learn how the PALM changes impact the accounting systems and current processes to determine, with the project team, the best method(s) to achieve those processes with the PALM changesDocumenting business processes and business requirementsAnalyzing business requirements to help define and design solutions to meet the requirementsCreating the requirements traceability matrix to map requirements to test casesDocumenting the use cases and test casesPerforming various methods of testing to ensure minimal defects will be encountered by the business customersDocumenting project deliverablesProviding status reports to the Business Support Program ManagerAssisting in SME training for a train-the-trainer approachEnsuring customer expectations are met with the projectCollaborating with stakeholders and other cross-functional team members (Developers, Functional Analysts, and Testers) to produce scalable, efficient, and supportable solutions utilizing Oracle eBS and related technologies.Proficiency in creating / maintaining the test cases document, test data and execute test cases/scripts.Deliverables:Customer required system deliverablesDaily Status to Business Support Program ManagerDocumented Detailed Business and Technical Process Crosswalk between existing business processes and new processes required by PALMDocumented and executed Test PlansDocumented User AcceptanceDocumented Defects during Testing and Test Cycle SummariesUpdated and current Project Workbook (updated bi-weekly), as directed by the Business Support Program ManagerDocumented Issue Register, as directed by the Business Support Program ManagerDocumented Change Logs, as directed by the Business Support Program ManagerDocumented Action Items Register with follow-ups for timely completion, as directed by the Business Support Program ManagerDocumented and current Decision Log during the project, as directed by the Business Support Program ManagerDocumented Lessons Learned during each phase of the project, as directed by the Business Support Program ManagerExecution of effective test strategiesDocumented and tested Business Support systems and processes impacted by PALM to have successful continuity of accounting functionsKnowledge transfer to the SME’s of impacts to their business processesMandatory Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related IT fieldsMinimum of 5 years of experience as a Business AnalystExperience as a BA in large scale software projectsExtensive knowledge of Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN)Experience with meeting facilitationExperience with business analysis and requirements documentationExperience in designing quality test processes to identify defectsExperience in using JIRA to document defects and monitor resolutionExperience performing differing test methodologies in IT projects to find defectsStrong communication skills, both verbally and in writingAbility to work independently and cooperatively with project team members and stakeholdersAbility to deliver assignments in the agreed schedule and of effective qualityAccountable to the assigned Business Support Program Manager for all phases of the PALM projectPreferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities:Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experienceMS-ProjectMS-VisioEntry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA)Certificate of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA)Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)Certificate in Business Data AnalyticsProfessional in Business Analysis (PBA) CertificationRequired Skills: Business Analysis Additional Skills: Business Analyst This is a high PRIORITY requisition.
