Sr. Category Manager - Technology & Global Services

Role Overview Reporting to the Category Director, the Senior Category Manager is responsible for managing all demand and supply management activities for one or more categories of spend. The role aims to optimize total cost of ownership, manage supplier risk, ensure supplier timelines, and meet stakeholder needs while driving collaboration across business partners. Key Responsibilities Develop and partner with Category Managers/Directors to implement category strategies for medium/high spend categories, ensuring maximum value and efficiency. Maintain deep expertise of category dynamics, global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations. Build strong relationships with internal customers and industry suppliers; partner with business leaders to align sourcing strategies with business and ecosystem goals. Lead cross‑functional teams in the development of category specifications, RFIs, RFPs, contracts, and sourcing project plans. Perform market data analysis for negotiations and supplier selection, and lead high‑complexity sourcing events. Compile commodity profile details, including supplier performance, volume forecasts, and design specifications, and analyze supply market dynamics to prepare performance metrics and dashboards. Execute the full sourcing process: scope development, supplier selection, commercial negotiation, third‑party risk acceptance, and contract execution. Engage risk stakeholders as needed. Improve vendor performance and optimize spend allocation across the enterprise. Promote risk excellence and sound risk management by owning bank‑wide policies and ensuring compliance with regulatory directives and firm‑wide policies. Actively manage the pipeline of projects for the team and ensure delivery to agreed timelines and expectations. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. 6–10 years of relevant experience in sourcing, procurement, or related functions within regulated organizations. In‑depth knowledge of market suppliers and cost drivers. Experience managing matrixed supplier relationships. Direct management experience of a sourcing/procurement team with strategic development responsibilities in financial services or heavily regulated industry. Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, negotiation, and influencing skills. Proficiency in project management and time management. Ability to engage and communicate with stakeholders at all levels. Track record of supplier consolidation and driving spend to preferred suppliers. Self‑motivated with executive presence and presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications MBA, Master’s in Supply Chain, or industry certifications. Broad experience across procurement, sourcing, and third‑party management functions.
