Position Overview We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) to join our outpatient mental health practice at The Still Point in Long Beach, California. In this full-time role, you will be instrumental in providing high-quality therapy to clients facing various mental health challenges, while working within a supportive and collaborative environment that emphasizes professional development and client advocacy. Work Environment Our practice operates in a remote outpatient setting, allowing our clinicians the flexibility to engage with clients in a manner that suits their needs while maintaining high professional standards. You will have access to collaborative tools, including electronic medical records (EMR) and telehealth platforms, which facilitate seamless client interactions and documentation. Our warm administrative team is always available to assist with logistical and operational tasks, allowing you to focus on your clinical practice. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough initial assessments to understand the unique needs of each client, develop diagnostic formulations, and collaboratively create individualized treatment plans. Deliver evidence-based individual therapy to adolescents and adults, and provide couples or family therapy if you possess the necessary training. Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) regulations and insurance standards, ensuring that records are timely and complete. Engage in regular peer consultation projects, participate in case conferences, and contribute to team-building activities that foster professional growth and collaboration among staff members. Uphold ethical standards and practices, demonstrating cultural humility and a commitment to providing exceptional clinical care. Utilize telehealth and EMR platforms to maximize accessibility and enhance the client experience during therapy sessions. Patient Population / Client Focus As an LPCC at The Still Point, you will work with a diverse range of clients struggling with mental health issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and significant life transitions. This diverse clientele provides an enriching experience, allowing you to apply various therapeutic techniques and deepen your understanding of different cultural contexts in mental health. Your role directly impacts their healing journey and contributes to improved mental health outcomes across our community. Qualifications A valid and current California licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), maintained in good standing. Registration with the BBS, with the ability to practice independently in California. Completion of a minimum of six semester units (or the equivalent) of supervised experience specifically focused on couples and families, if those services are offered. A demonstrated commitment to serving diverse populations and an understanding of social justice principles as they pertain to mental health care. Preferred Experience Training in at least one evidence-based therapeutic modality, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), or trauma-informed therapies. Experience working with electronic documentation systems and a strong comfort level with telehealth platforms is advantageous. A background in community-based mental health services and an understanding of systemic barriers to care. Compensation and Benefits Competitive annual compensation in the range of $90,000 - $110,000 , commensurate with experience, along with comprehensive benefits such as health, dental, vision insurance, and retirement plans. The ability to set your own caseload, managing between 10 to 30 client sessions per week , fostering a balanced workload that suits your individual preferences. Fee-for-service pay structure with protective measures in place for no-show appointments, ensuring financial stability.
