Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract opportunity near Cupertino, CA seeks both an in-person Teacher of the Visually Impaired as well as an experienced Braillist. If you have a passion for accessible education, your expertise could play a key role in empowering students to achieve their potential.
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Valid Teaching Certification for Visually Impaired (for TVI applicants)
- Proficiency in Braille transcription, with relevant certification or experience (for Braillist applicants)
- Demonstrated knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive tools for students with visual impairments
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with students, families, and educational teams
- Commitment to individualized instruction and fostering inclusive classroom environments
In these roles, your responsibilities may include:
- Providing tailored instruction to students with visual impairments and adapting materials as needed (TVI)
- Transcribing educational resources into Braille and tactile formats (Braillist)
- Consulting with classroom teachers and staff to ensure all learning environments are accessible
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies based on individual needs
- Attending IEP meetings and contributing to the development of appropriate educational plans
