This hands-on Maintenance Technician role supports a fast-paced heavy industrial plant by installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining production equipment and systems. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, welding and fabrication capabilities, blueprint reading, basic carpentry and math skills, as well as the ability to work safely around heavy equipment and railroad tracks while supporting continuous operations across multiple production lines.

• Install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain a wide variety of production equipment in a heavy industrial environment.
• Provide day-to-day maintenance support for plant operations, ensuring production lines run safely and efficiently.
• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor systems.
• Support raw material processing, manufacturing, quality control, packaging, shipping, inventory, and general plant maintenance activities.
• Rotate through various duties within the plant to support different production lines and operational needs.
• Apply strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills to diagnose equipment issues and implement effective repairs.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation to perform accurate installations and repairs.
• Utilize welding and fabrication skills to repair, modify, or build components and structures as needed.
• Perform basic carpentry tasks and use math skills to complete measurements, alignments, and equipment setups.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely in a heavy industrial setting, including areas near railroad tracks.
• Practice and maintain 5S workplace organization methods to promote a clean, orderly, and efficient work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, particularly when working around heavy equipment, hot surfaces, wet areas, and railroad tracks.
• Use basic computer skills to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and access equipment information.
• Lift and move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds as part of daily maintenance tasks.
• Work rotating shifts, including second shift hours, to support continuous plant operations.

• General knowledge of maintenance disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, and vacuum systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve equipment and system issues effectively.
• Ability to install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain production equipment in a heavy industrial environment.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude with experience working on industrial machinery and systems.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance on a wide variety of industrial equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors.
• Basic computer skills for documenting work, accessing information, and supporting maintenance processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in welding and fabrication for repair and construction of equipment components.
• Basic carpentry skills for structural and equipment-related tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.
• Capability to work rotating shifts, including second shift (4:00 p.m. 12:00 a.m., Monday through Friday).
• 2+ years of experience in an industrial environment.
• Forklift operating experience in heavy industrial or metals-related settings.
• Focus on safety when working around heavy equipment and railroad tracks.

• Degree from a technical school or university in a related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience in industrial maintenance.
• Experience in heavy industrial environments, ideally within metals or similar industries.
• Experience with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
• Experience with pneumatic systems used in industrial equipment.
• Experience with conveyor systems and other material handling equipment.
• Fabrication skills for creating and modifying metal components and assemblies.
• Welding skills applicable to industrial repair and maintenance work.
• Familiarity with 5S or similar workplace organization and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to work effectively in a dirty, wet, and hot environment near heavy equipment and railroad tracks.
• Strong commitment to safety practices and adherence to plant safety policies and procedures.

The role is based in a heavy industrial plant environment that is often dirty, wet, and hot, particularly near operating equipment and production areas. Work is performed around heavy machinery, conveyor systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and railroad tracks, requiring constant attention to safety and situational awareness. The position supports a fast-paced facility with multiple production lines and rotating duties, and it involves regular use of forklifts and other material handling equipment. The standard schedule for this role includes second shift hours from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, with the expectation of rotating shifts as needed to support plant operations. Employees use tools and equipment associated with mechanical maintenance, welding, fabrication, basic carpentry, and computer-based maintenance systems, and they are expected to follow 5S principles to maintain an organized and efficient work area.

This is a Permanent position based out of Shoemakersville, PA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
