The Center for Learning and Belonging is seeking a Daycare Director who wants to make a big impact in the lives of young children we are proud to care for each and every day.
The Director of the Center of Learning and Belonging is responsible for the effective functioning of the daycare facility, as well as staff. 
This position will be responsible for maintaining a safe and fun environment for children and maintaining the safety of the facility for children’s use. The Director of the Center of Learning and Belonging immediately reports any concerns to the children’s parents and guardians if any should arise. You will be an important part of a thriving and collaborative team that is always open to new ideas.

What are the responsibilities of the Director of the Center for Learning and Belonging?.
Responsible for the general management of the facility, including the following minimum duties:

• Administering finances, personnel, maintenance, meal planning and preparation and transportation.
• Administering the facility’s program objectives and activities.
• Designating a staff person who is responsible for compliance with regulations (Chapter 3270 of the PA Code) in the Director’s absence.
• Coordinating and planning daily activities with the group supervisors or with the assistant group supervisors in school-age program.
• Overall program planning.
• Written evaluation of staff persons on a regular basis, a minimum of one evaluation every 12 months.
• Maintains current knowledge of PA regulations and always ensures full compliance
• Assists with maintaining the well-being of children under their care.
• Ensures the daycare facility is safe and well-maintained including checking safety equipment, removing hazards, and ensures the facility is always clean and orderly.
• Markets and promote awareness of the facility and available services.
• Meets with parents and staff to discuss learning or behavior issues.
• Leads team in implementation of curriculum and assessments chosen by the organization
• Attends and participates in daily/weekly/monthly team meetings.
• Schedules and plans for professional development days for team members ensuring a positive learning environment for all participants
• Consistently demonstrate and serve as a role model of exceptional alignment with and commitment to our Mission, Vision, Values, and Beliefs while implementing all aspects of the role
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Center of Learning and Belonging.

What are the qualifications needed for a Director?

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, special education, elementary education, or a human services field and 1 year of experience working with children.
• 30 credits from a Bachelor's degree program from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, special education, elementary education, or a human services field AND 2 years of experience with children.
• An Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, special education, elementary education, or a human services field and 3 years of experience with children.
• 30 credits from an Associate's degree program from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, special education, elementary education, or a human services field with 4 years of experience with children.
• Strong ability to multi-task and problem-solve.
• Good organization, communication, and attention to detail.
• Positive, friendly attitude.
• Must be flexible and adaptable to rapid changes in the daily work environment and be resourceful in solving problems.
