Gastroenterology Locums Opportunity - Prestonsburg, KentuckyQuick Facts for Candidate ScreeningAvailability Needed
Start Date: September 28, 2026 Assignment Duration: 12 months Need 1 provider preferred (open to alternating weeks with 2 providers) License & Certification Requirements Facility willing to license qualified candidates GI Board Certification or Board Eligible assumed (standard for locum gastroenterology roles; verify with recruiter) Schedule & Call RequirementsClinic Hours Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Call Structure Shared on-call with another provider Offsite call response: Emergency consultation: within 30 minutes Routine issues: within 12 hours Frequency: 1-2 times per week Most common call reason: active GI bleed Support Staff APP support provided Procedural RequirementsGeneral GI Procedures Upper Endoscopy (EGD) Colonoscopy Advanced Procedures ERCP (mid-level / moderate complexity) EUS: Not required EMR: Not required Specialty Procedures Esophageal, duodenal, or luminal stent placement Argon plasma coagulation Biopsies (esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon) Colonoscopy with/without polypectomy Diagnostic and therapeutic EGD Enteral alimentation Esophageal dilation (balloon, bougie, or Savary with guidewire) Foreign body removal via EGD Flexible sigmoidoscopy GI motility studies and 24-hour pH monitoring Non-variceal hemostasis (upper and lower) Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) Procedural Volume 12-14 procedures per day Practice DetailsSpecialty Gastroenterology Patient Population Non-compliant, complex patients Often accompanied by family members during visits EMR Meditech Work Culture Pleasant and kind Strong relationship-building and communication skills highly preferred Ideal Candidate Experienced Gastroenterologist with general GI and ERCP capability Comfortable with high procedural volume Flexible with offsite call coverage Skilled in patient relationship management Willing to commit to 12-month locum assignment Allow RecruitWell to set up a phone call with you and the client to discuss more!What RecruitWell Provides: A+ rated malpractice Weekly direct deposit 24/7 dedicated recruiter support Professional onboarding and credentialing Prepaid travel and lodging RecruitWell's Core Values: Open communication Sense of urgency Teamwork Accountability Driven to win Higher consciousnessVacancy posted 4 days ago
