Patient Care Coordinator

Job Summary/Company :


We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Patient Customer Service Representative to join a community clinic in NW DC . This role is essential in providing excellent front-line service to patients by scheduling appointments, answering phone inquiries, assisting with patient registration, and supporting front desk operations. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and customer service skills, a compassionate demeanor, and the ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced healthcare environment.



Responsibilities :

• Greet and assist patients and visitors in a welcoming and professional manner.
• Answer incoming calls, respond to general inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate staff.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
• Assist with patient check-in and check-out.
• Verify and update patient demographic, contact, and insurance information.
• Assist patients with completing registration forms and required documentation.
• Maintain accurate patient information in electronic health record (EHR) and other systems.
• Conduct appointment reminder calls and follow up with patients regarding missed or canceled appointments.
• Assist with patient outreach and follow-up activities.
• Support referral coordination and follow up on referral status.
• Communicate with patients and healthcare staff regarding appointments, referrals, and administrative needs.
• Assist patients with navigating available services and resources.
• Prepare and maintain reports, spreadsheets, trackers, and other administrative documents.
• Maintain organized electronic and paper records while protecting patient confidentiality.
• Support daily clinic operations and assist with maintaining efficient patient flow.
• Perform other administrative duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Background Profile :

• Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare setting, customer service environment, or other patient-facing role preferred.
• Experience with patient scheduling and appointment coordination preferred.
• Experience with insurance verification or eligibility preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working with electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office; experience with Oracle or Altera is a plus.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
• Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach

Pay Range: Hourly $23.32 to $23.32
