1.0 contract Requires Missouri Early Childhood PK-3 or Elementary 1-6 certification. Any interested certified Rockwood employee eligible to transfer (180 days contract or more) must submit a TRANSFER application to this posting before the internal closing date to be considered. If new to the district, start date is August 11, 2026. Regular teacher orientation start date is August 18, 2026. Position Title: Teacher Status: 187 days contract / 7.12 hours per day / 35.6 hours per week FLSA Status: Exempt / Non-Exempt Reports To: Building Principal and Human Resources Position Summary: Facilitate learning of curriculum and life skills that contribute to the development of mature, capable, and responsible individuals. Plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program to meet the varied needs of all learners. Responsible for curriculum implementation in a variety of formats and the use of technology. Essential Functions Plan daily instruction for all students using approved curriculum, including lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessment designs. Provide instruction to assigned students at designated times and locations, and maintain mobility throughout the school environment. Take reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Design and deliver instruction that incorporates differentiation and acceleration to meet varied learner needs. Maintain high expectations and create learning experiences that engage students in critical thinking and deep understanding. Plan and deliver instruction that incorporates meaningful engagement, interaction, and feedback for individual and group learning needs. Assess student progress using formative and summative measures, provide specific feedback to students and parents, and adjust instruction accordingly. Provide additional opportunities for support and extension to ensure all students continue to make progress. Actively engage in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to analyze student learning and plan responsive instruction. Demonstrate understanding of how subject knowledge is connected across disciplines and real‑life contexts. Engage in district and building‑level professional learning to continuously improve instruction and student outcomes. Stay current with developments in field and deepen discipline knowledge. Maintain a functional, attractive, orderly, and safe classroom environment. Manage discipline in accordance with regulations, policies, and legal requirements. Apply behavior management strategies that promote responsibility and self‑control. Demonstrate respectful, cooperative, and caring interactions with students and colleagues. Assume responsibility for effective functioning of the school, including non‑instructional duties and student management. Participate in departmental and faculty meetings. Utilize district‑approved technologies to enhance instruction. Collaborate with other professionals and participate in school and district activities. Communicate with parents, students, and administrators regarding student performance. Maintain accurate student grades using appropriate technology systems. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and policy. Complete assigned duties within established timelines. Implement conflict resolution strategies appropriately. Supervise students throughout the school day in various settings. Perform other duties as assigned. Basic Requirements Valid Missouri professional teaching certificate in the assigned grade level and subject area. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with emphasis in an educational subject area. Knowledge of relevant technology implementation. Consistent and regular attendance. Equipment Used Standard office equipment. Instructional materials and technology. Variety of equipment based on curricular needs. Work Environment Within assigned building(s) and classroom(s). Work in various locations, including playgrounds, lunch rooms, and hallways.
