Bench Assistant Cash Office Manager

Summary Responsible to ensure each Front End associate provides fast, friendly, and efficient customer service. Responsible for overseeing the entire Front End operation of the store to include customer checkout (registers, scanning, and service), bottle return, cleaning of the break room and restrooms, and the parking lot and sidewalk area of store operations. Ensures all front end policies and procedures are adhered to at all times. Assists the Customer Service Manager to ensure that all company programs are communicated to and adhered to by all Front End associates. Pay Range & Locations Pay Range: $19.00- $25.50 Capital District and Albany locations Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensure the highest level of customer service and courtesy is provided at all times. Consistently work within company 5S efficiency standards. Ask each customer for an AdvantEdge Card. Smiles, acknowledges customers at the beginning and end of each transaction. Be aware of shrink-related items and how to control them. Train and supervise all cashiers, bottle associates and service clerks. Schedule associates and perform other administrative-like duties. Maintain cashier controls and security in accordance with company policies and procedures. Adhere to cash controls and over/short policies. Ensure an adequate level of supplies necessary to operate the Front End area of the store and maintain expense control. Control cash media collected at registers according to company policies and procedures. Maintain detailed and accurate cashier log books for audit purposes. Assist the Customer Service Manager in maintaining all Front End expenses (i.e., payroll, cashier over/shorts). Guarantee that all customer orders are rung accurately, efficiently and in accordance with corporate policies and procedures. Record all pricing errors promptly. Maintain a neat, safe, clean Front End operation and organized workstation in accordance with 5S and sanitation regulations. Ensure all Front End associates consistently work within company efficiency standards. Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Honest, reliable, with integrity and professionalism. Strong communication skills. Basic literacy. Basic computer skills. At least 6-12 months of related experience. Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. 1-3 years related experience. Physical Requirements Bending constant 5-8 hours. Exposure to cold environment occasional 1-3 hours. Exposure to hot environment occasional 1-3 hours. Grasping/finger movement & dexterity left/right hands constant 5-8 hours. Lifting frequent 3-5 hours up to 25 lbs. Lifting occasional 1-3 hours up to 50 lbs. Pivoting constant 5-8 hours. Pushing/pulling occasional 1-3 hours up to 75 lbs. Sitting occasional 1-3 hours. Squatting/kneeling constant 5-8 hours.
