3 weeks ago Be among the first 25 applicants Founded in 2013, Deep Cove Partners (“DCP”) is a Chicago-based management group for a portfolio of family-held investments across private equity and real estate. DCP partners with exceptional management teams to create, acquire, and/or grow companies that address inefficient, highly fragmented, and underserved industry segments. DCP is seeking an assistant controller to report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The person in this role will prepare and oversee monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, reconcile quarterly capital account statements, maintain waterfall models of holding companies, manage capital calls, distributions, and related quarterly reporting. The position will have the opportunity to collaborate with third party project management and operations teams for DCP’s real estate development portfolio.The ideal candidate will embrace having plenty of room to grow, working with a small team, with large office resources. Responsibilities: Lead the day-to-day financial accounting and reporting packages for the DCP investment operating entities and holding companies Assist with the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements, including utilizing investment team valuations and partnership waterfalls for flow through entities Assist with the preparation of quarterly internal reporting to family office partners, as well as ad hoc requests Preparation of capital call and distribution notices to family office investors Collaborate with the investment and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely tracking of investments, including project budgets, cash flows, and returns Work closely with external auditors, tax advisors, and other service providers to support annual audits, tax filings, and internal reporting Initial cross training of family services accounting to understand family office investment structure With external support, develop auditable financial statements for real estate holdings that are currently not in place Responsible for cash management and online banking, including bank deposits, bank reconciliations and wire transfers Approve ACH and wire transfers for A/P and payroll. Assist with special projects as required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred. 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 3+ years in a manager role. Knowledge of GAAP standards and experience preparing financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Self-motivated and ability to work as part of a small team or independently with little supervision; ability to prioritize and execute multiple responsibilities and maintain a flexible attitude while working within a deadline-driven environment Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software, especially Microsoft Excel Experience with Sage Intacct would be a benefit, but not necessary DCP offers competitive compensation and benefits. Ability to be in office is flexible, but preference is at least 1 day per week. The position will have the ability to work full-time in office, if preferred. Salary Range - 110,000 - 140,000 based on experience, qualifications and bonus potential.
