Workday Technical Lead

We are looking for a Workday Technical lead who can roll up their sleeves and build, while also thinking critically to architect elegant solutions from ambiguous, evolving requirements. This role directly reports to the Workday IT Product Owner. You will be the go-to technical point of contact for our Workday developer platform — Integrations, Extend, AI, and Data -- partnering with the Product Owner and business stakeholders to turn loosely defined problems into well-designed, scalable solutions. If you're a motivated problem solver who loves both the craft of development and the challenge of design, this role was built for you.As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.Solution Design & Technical LeadershipLead solution design efforts for complex Workday initiatives, including when requirements are ambiguous or incomplete — bringing structure, clarity, and a path forward Translate business needs into technical designs, producing architecture diagrams, data flow models, and detailed technical specificationsWorkday Development & EngineeringDesign, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Workday solutions across a broad range of tools and patterns, including:Integrations OrchestrateIpaas/Middleware platformsRaaS (Report-as-a-Service) and REST/SOAP APIsGRAPHQLExtend Agent BuildersData LakesImplement secure integration patterns using OAuth, SAML, and other modern authentication standardsRe-architect and re-build integrations to modernize the SNC tech stackPlatform Operations & SupportExecute proactive monitoring, performance management, break-fix triage, and troubleshooting across the Workday integration landscapeDevelop and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including specifications, runbooks, and architecture decision recordsStakeholder Partnership & Cross-Functional ExecutionPartner with the Product Owner and business stakeholders to gather requirements, lead technical design discussions, and drive solutions to completionCommunicate technical concepts and trade-offs clearly to both technical peers and non-technical business partnersInnovation & Continuous ImprovementStay current on Workday platform advancements, new features, and industry trends — especially emerging AI/LLM opportunities within the HR tech spaceContinuously improve integration methodologies, development standards, and team practicesQualifications You Must Have:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.6+ years of experience with at least 4+ years of hands-on Workday technical experience, including deep expertise in Workday integration development, security, reports and business processes. Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of related experience is required.Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience. Demonstrated proficiency in Workday OrchestrateWorkday Certification in Orchestrate/Integrations Experience with Workday Business Processes and Security Configuration. Solid Experience building reports with Workday Report WriterRaaS and WQL as wellProven experience building Workday Extend applicationsPossess a track record of utilizing Al/Agents to supercharge your developmentStrong command of XML, SQL, JSON, etcExperience with RESTful APIs, SOAP, and GraphQL in an enterprise integration contextFamiliarity with middleware/Ipaas platforms such as MuleSoft or data platforms like Snowflake/Power BISolid understanding of security and authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML, etc.)Demonstrated ability to design solutions under ambiguous or incomplete requirements — you don't wait for perfect information to move forwardExperience with integration testing, release management, and operational best practicesStrong documentation habits and communication skills across technical and business audiencesQualifications We Prefer:Workday certification(s) in Extend, and related domains Experience with Workday Prism Analytics or Data CloudExposure to AI/LLM integration patterns and their application in HR technology workflowsUnderstanding of global HR processes, payroll landscapes, and HR compliance considerationsExperience in an embedded product team, Workday services partner, or HRIS/IT environmentEssential Functions:Workday certification(s) in Extend, and related domains Experience with Workday Prism Analytics or Data CloudExposure to AI/LLM integration patterns and their application in HR technology workflowsUnderstanding of global HR processes, payroll landscapes, and HR compliance considerationsExperience in an embedded product team, Workday services partner, or HRIS/IT environmentThis posting will be open for application for a minimum of 5 days and may be extended based on business needs.Estimated Starting Salary Range: $124,771.42 - $171,560.71. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
