Payroll Analyst

Sierra Staffing Group is seeking a Payroll Analyst to join a rapidly growing Manufacturing company located in the Sparks, NV area. Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Analyst to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of high-volume, full-cycle payroll while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical payroll knowledge, experience with multi-state payroll processing, and the ability to analyze payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and support month-end financial reporting. Process high-volume, full-cycle payroll accurately and on schedule for hourly and salaried employees. Administer multi-state payroll processing, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local wage and tax regulations. Review, validate, and reconcile payroll data, including timekeeping records, overtime, bonuses, commissions, shift differentials, and other earnings. Process payroll adjustments, retroactive pay, off-cycle payrolls, and final paychecks. Maintain payroll records and ensure employee data is accurate within the HRIS and payroll systems. Manage payroll tax withholdings, tax filings, and ensure compliance with all payroll tax requirements. Process and administer garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other court-ordered deductions. Prepare and post payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts. Assist with month-end payroll reporting, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial close activities. Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, responding to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Support internal and external payroll audits by preparing requested documentation and reports. Ensure compliance with company policies, wage and hour laws, and payroll best practices. Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, reporting, and system efficiencies. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred. 3+ years of payroll experience, including high-volume, full-cycle payroll processing. Experience processing multi-state payroll required. Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and payroll compliance. Experience processing garnishments, tax levies, child support, and other involuntary deductions. Experience preparing payroll journal entries and supporting month-end close. Proficiency with payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, Workday, Paycom, Ceridian, or similar platforms. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive payroll information. Preferred Qualifications Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred. Experience with ERP systems and payroll integrations. Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal payroll controls is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
