Job description:

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join a local petroleum company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing complex tax compliance, planning, and reporting activities across various sectors. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of financial concepts.

Schedule: M-F

Responsibilities

Prepare, review and submit tax payments ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Prepare and examine accounting records
Monthly balance reports
Report analysis and findings to the rest of the team
Balance ATM activity daily
Maintain margin spreadsheet with tax information
Research annual tax rate changes and discrepancies
Post card fees
Post receipts related to vendor rebates
Create weekly receivable reporting to management

Requirements

A minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in accounting
a 4 year degree with a BS in accounting, CPA OR MBA HIGHLY PREFERRED
Proven ability to meet strict state and local due dates
Advanced Excel skills
Detail oriented
