Mental Health Clinical Supervisor

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Supervisor to oversee Behavioral Health, Substance Use Disorder (SUD), and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs. This role is responsible for the planning, supervision, and monitoring of clinical staff and program operations to ensure compliance with OMHAS, COA standards, Ohio Administrative Code, HRSA requirements, and agency policies and procedures.

The Clinical Supervisor will provide leadership, clinical supervision, and operational oversight while spending approximately 50% of their time providing direct patient care. This position will also support program development, staff training, inter-agency collaboration, and oversight of multiple Behavioral Health office locations.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Program Oversight
  • Supervise and support Program Managers, Coordinators, and clinical staff across assigned Behavioral Health, SUD, and MAT programs.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based services.
  • Provide direct patient care for approximately 50% of scheduled work time.
  • Oversee Behavioral Health office operations and ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with the planning, development, and implementation of new clinical programs and services.
Leadership & Staff Development
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate clinical staff.
  • Provide clinical supervision to licensed and unlicensed staff in accordance with Ohio regulations.
  • Promote a collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Participate in administrative meetings and coordinate with other clinical supervisors and leadership teams.
Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure compliance with OMHAS, COA, HRSA requirements, Ohio Administrative Code, and agency policies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements related to Behavioral Health, SUD, and MAT services.
  • Support Electronic Health Record (EHR) workflow efficiency and clinical best practices.
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper management of client records and protected health information.
Community & Operational Support
  • Serve as liaison with community agencies and external partners.
  • Participate in agency committees, including Safety and Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) meetings.
  • Assist with grant writing, reporting, and agency initiatives as assigned.
  • Monitor office facilities, equipment, and safety concerns to ensure a safe working environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related Behavioral Health field.
  • Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision to licensed and unlicensed staff.
  • Prior experience overseeing Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment services and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs.
  • Strong leadership experience with program operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to meet agency driving requirements.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills preferred.
Required Licensure & Certifications
  • Active and unrestricted LPCC-S or LISW-S license in the State of Ohio.
  • Valid unrestricted Ohio Driver's License.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in community mental health or integrated behavioral health settings.
  • Familiarity with OMHAS, COA accreditation standards, HRSA requirements, and Ohio Administrative Code.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and clinical documentation oversight.
  • Background in trauma-informed care and evidence-based behavioral health practices.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds with accommodation as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and occasionally high-stress environment.
Work Environment
  • Office and clinical environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions and standard office equipment.
  • Frequent close-up computer and documentation work.
