This travel assignment involves working in a dynamic healthcare environment where you will play a crucial role in patient care and medication management. Key Responsibilities of the Pharmacist:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
- Ensure the supply of medicines is within the law.
- Verify that prescribed medicines are suitable for patients.
- Accurately maintain confidential records of all patients.
- Advise patients about medicines, including usage, reactions, and answer questions.
- Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications.
- Provide services such as smoking cessation and manage chronic conditions.
- Educate patients on medical device usage such as blood pressure monitors.
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions.
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
- Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
- Identify and communicate drug-related problems with healthcare professionals.
Requirements of the Pharmacist:
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
- Licensed by the state pharmacy board.
