Senior Automation Engineer, Laboratory Automation - Analytical Sciences

Senior Automation Engineer position within Analytical Sciences focused on developing and implementing automation solutions for cell-based, immunological, and genomic assays. The role combines hands-on engineering with project execution to improve assay robustness and workflow efficiency for engineered cell therapy products.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and implement automation solutions for cell-based and genomic assays
Program, test, and maintain Hamilton VANTAGE and automated liquid-handling workstations
Partner with scientists and engineers to translate manual processes into automated workflows
Create SOPs, user guides, and technical reports; train laboratory personnel on systems
Troubleshoot and continuously improve automated systems for reliable performance

Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in bioengineering, biotechnology, mechanical engineering, or related field
Advanced expertise with Hamilton liquid-handling platforms and VENUS software
Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming language
Experience with cell culture, immunological assays, and flow cytometry
Knowledge of GMP requirements and regulated environment experience
Experience developing integrated automation workflows using scheduling software

Compensation: $103,286.40–$154,929.60 base
