Position Summary

• The organization is seeking a Temporary Outreach Representative to support outreach, recruitment, enrollment, and family engagement efforts across New York City.
• This role serves as a key point of contact for families, providing information about admissions, applications, registration, enrollment processes, and educational opportunities.
• The Temporary Outreach Representative will work closely with schools, community organizations, libraries, faith-based institutions, and other partners to promote enrollment initiatives and connect families with available resources.
• This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy working directly with diverse communities and supporting public-facing programs in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the organization at outreach events, enrollment fairs, workshops, and information sessions across New York City.
• Provide enrollment, admissions, and registration information to families and community members.
• Conduct phone outreach campaigns related to admissions deadlines, enrollment opportunities, and educational programs.
• Support community canvassing initiatives and distribute outreach materials in targeted neighborhoods.
• Assist with recruitment and enrollment efforts for early childhood and K-12 admissions programs.
• Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, and local stakeholders.
• Facilitate trainings, workshops, and informational sessions for families and community partners.
• Respond to inquiries from families and escalate complex issues to the appropriate offices when needed.
• Support event logistics, including setup, operations, and breakdown.
• Maintain outreach records and assist with activity tracking, reporting, and data collection.
• Support high-volume seasonal enrollment initiatives and special projects.
• Provide multilingual support when applicable.
• Assist call center and other teams by responding to phone and email inquiries.
• Submit applications on behalf of families through the applicable enrollment system for early childhood and elementary school programs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in community outreach, family engagement, customer service, education, public service, communications, or related fields.
• Experience working directly with families and diverse populations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
• Experience supporting public events, workshops, trainings, or customer-facing programs.
• Ability to communicate with families in a professional, respectful, and culturally responsive manner.
• Experience working in a fast-paced customer service, outreach, or call center environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to accurately document activities and maintain records.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Previous experience working within public schools or other public-sector organizations is a plus.
• Fluency in a language other than English is highly desirable.

Work Requirements

• Ability to travel throughout New York City's five boroughs.
• Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during events and outreach activities.
• Ability to transport and distribute outreach materials and event supplies.
• Willingness to participate in outdoor outreach and canvassing activities in varying weather conditions.
