Clinical Research Study Surveillance Coordinator

Performance of surveillance for monitoring results and adverse events occurring as a result of specific clinical research study in the Health Sciences Center. Job responsibilities include investigation reporting consultation and education of healthcare personnel.

Job responsibilities include:

• Surveillance of research patient units for monitoring of results and detection of adverse events as a result of study protocol.
• Consultation and/or assistance to units and/or clinics as it relates to study patients protocol and research guidelines.
• Development and delivery of educational programs for patients staff and faculty.
• Assistance to Principal Investigators during audits by sponsoring agency or other regulatory bodies.
• Tracking appropriate data to assess patients response to study protocol.
• Performance of area-specific support/clinical activities.

Minimum requirements:

• Education: Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Education and Experience.
• Experience: 3-5 years nursing experience.
• Licensure: Must be a registered nurse and currently licensed to practice in the State of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Physical demands:

• Job requires sitting for prolonged periods frequently traveling (distance: mile).
• Proficient communicative auditory and visual skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
• Ability to lift/push/pull 10lbs.
• May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

Pay range for this role is 33.27 - 53.23 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications previous work experience and/or education.
