Collaborates with healthcare professionals to support the provision and coordination of patient care. Reviews patient profiles, drug interactions, sensitivities, and medication usage information to support safe and accurate prescription processing. Determines when prescriptions require physician clarification or referral for therapeutic intervention or follow-up. Enters prescriptions into the pharmacy computer system and resolves orders through the External Adjudication (EA) queue. Supports patient services by responding to medication questions and concerns. Contacts physicians to clarify prescriptions and resolve clinical questions as assigned. Maintains quality assurance procedures, controlled-substance security, and hazardous-drug waste disposal practices. Works collaboratively with pharmacy team members to ensure prescription accuracy. Dispenses medications and completes final dispensing quality checks for accuracy and dosage.Job Duties: Review patient profiles and prescriptions for drug interactions, sensitivities, and appropriate medication use. Respond to incoming patient questions and concerns about prescription medications. Assist with physician calls and therapeutic intervention activities as assigned. Resolve prescription orders through the External Adjudication (EA) queue. Maintain quality assurance procedures and controlled-substance security. Follow established procedures for hazardous-drug waste disposal. Collaborate with pharmacy colleagues to ensure prescription accuracy.
