Payroll Specialist

We are partnering with a growing organization in Greenwood Village, CO to identify a Payroll Specialist for a contract engagement. This role will support end-to-end payroll processing and ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across a multi-state employee population.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Paycom and can step in quickly to manage payroll operations in a fast-paced environment.

This position is paying between $25/hr and $28/hr depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Process biweekly and/or semi-monthly payroll in Paycom for a multi-state workforce
• Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time, including wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
• Maintain and audit employee payroll records for accuracy and compliance
• Handle payroll taxes , garnishments, benefits deductions, and applicable withholdings
• Perform payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Support year-end payroll processes , including W-2 preparation
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll processing experience
• Required: Direct experience with Paycom (implementation or heavy usage preferred)
• Experience processing payroll for multi-state employees
• Strong understanding of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in Excel (lookups, basic formulas, data analysis)
• High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
